This page explains how to delete your online account for KnightWise Chess (Android package com.akkodcom.knightwisechess), published by AkKod, and what happens to your data when you do.

KnightWise Chess uses an anonymous online account. We never ask for your real name, email address, phone number, or a password, so there is no sign-in page on this website that could identify you. Deletion is therefore started from inside the app, where your account is already active. If you cannot open the app, use the email route described further down.

Delete From Inside the App

This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.

1. Open KnightWise Chess.
2. Go to the Profile tab.
3. Scroll to Your account.
4. Tap Delete online account.
5. Read the confirmation dialog, then tap Delete permanently.

The deletion runs on our server the moment you confirm. The app does not create a new anonymous account afterwards. You get one again only if you expressly choose to create a new online account.

Request Deletion by Email

If you have uninstalled the app, lost the device, or cannot reach the control described above, write to destek@akkod.com with the subject KnightWise Chess account deletion.

Because the account is anonymous, we hold nothing that links it to your email address. To find the right record we need at least one of the following, and the more you can give the better:

• Your six character friend code
• The display name you used in online play
• The display name of a friend on your list, or of a recent online opponent, together with roughly when you played

We answer every request. If the information you send is not enough to identify a single account, we will say so rather than delete someone else's data, and we will tell you what else would help.

What Is Deleted

Confirming deletion permanently removes, from our servers:

• The anonymous Supabase account and its user identifier
• Your server-side social profile, including display name, avatar selection, and online rating
• Your friendships and pending friend requests
• Your friend code
• Messages you sent through the in-app quick chat
• Any online games you are currently taking part in, including friend matches and random matchmaking sessions

Video and voice calls leave nothing to delete. The streams are carried directly between the two players and are never recorded or stored on our servers.

What Stays, and Why

Data held on your own device is not touched by account deletion. Your local progress, puzzle and lesson history, offline match records, settings, and chosen avatar remain until you clear the app's data through your device settings or uninstall the app.

Abuse reports are the one server-side exception. Reports you filed, and reports filed about you, are kept for 180 days in a form that no longer identifies you. They are retained so that a person cannot erase a record of harassment by deleting an account and creating a new one, and they are discarded automatically at the end of that period.

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Subscriptions are held by the store you bought them from, not by us, and must be cancelled there. Records held independently by Supabase, Cloudflare, Apple, Google, Google Play, and RevenueCat follow their own retention rules.

How Long It Takes

Deletion started inside the app is immediate. The account and the records listed above are gone by the time the confirmation message appears.

Deletion requested by email is handled within 30 days of us receiving enough information to identify the account, and usually much sooner. De-identified abuse reports expire on their own 180 day schedule in both cases.
